JAKARTA – PSSI through Secretary General (Sekjen) Yunus Nusi reiterated that his party did not spend a dime to
persuade players of descent to defend the Indonesian National Team. The players’ desire was purely due to a calling of the soul.

This was emphasized by Yunus in a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives
at the Parliament Building, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, November 4, 2024. This is because the question arose from a member of the council.

This time, the questioner was Bonnie Triyana from the PDIP faction. He wanted to know whether players of descent received payment for a certain duration and position or not.

Yunus answered firmly that there was no payment or rent for players of descent. They, said Yunus, defended the Indonesian National Team with sincerity and great sacrifice.

Yunus then conveyed the statement again to reporters. The 54-year-old man said that all players of descent defended the
Indonesian National Team based on a calling of the soul.

“Yes, we don’t have any rent or payment or value for naturalization,” said Yunus to media crew in Jakarta, quoted on
Wednesday (6/11/2024).
