Felix of Chelsea completes his loan transfer to AC Milan.
Joao Felix, a forward for Chelsea, has agreed to a loan deal with. AC Milan for the end of the current campaign.
With no commitment to purchase the 25-year-old Portugal international in the summer. The Italian team has paid a £5 million loan fee for Felix.
The necessary documentation was turned in ahead of Monday’s Serie A and Premier League. Transfer deadline, even though the agreement was only revealed on Tuesday.
After spending the second half of the 2022–2023 season on loan at Stamford Bridge. Felix signed a seven-year contract in August when he transferred to Chelsea on a permanent deal worth £45 million.
Conor Gallagher, an academy product, left Chelsea for Atletico Madrid for £33 million. Resulting in the Felix transaction under peculiar circumstances.
Following the collapse of Chelsea’s negotiations to sign Atletico striker Samu Omorodion. The Felix deal appeared to be a substitute to allow. Atletico to secure the necessary funding to finalize the Gallagher transfer.
Chelsea intended to sell Gallagher in order to make money and keep him from leaving on a free transfer in the summer of 2025.
Because he had entered the last year of his contract at Stamford Bridge.
Felix has scored seven goals while playing frequently in cup tournaments, however he has only started three Premier League games this season.
The attacker, who started his career at Benfica, transferred to Atletico Madrid in July 2019 for £113 million, making it the fifth-most expensive transfer in history at the time.
Before returning to Stamford Bridge last summer, he played the 2023–24 season on loan at Barcelona.
Milan, now ranked ninth in Serie A, will play Roma in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals on Wednesday. They will also face Feyenoord in a two-leg Champions League play-off later this month.
