Eager to Defend
The player of Indonesian descent, Mauro Zijlstra, seems to really want to defend the Indonesian National Team. The reason is, the FC Volendam U-21 player wants to meet the General Chairman (Ketum) of PSSI Erick Thohir so that his naturalization process can be processed immediately.
Zijlstra is one of the names currently being targeted by PSSI to be naturalized so that he can defend the Indonesian National Team. This is already an open secret because now PSSI is checking the completeness of the documents of the 19-year-old striker.
However, it is not yet known for sure how Zijlstra’s naturalization process will continue.
But it is likely that the player born in Zaandam.
Netherlands, will almost certainly become a candidate for the Indonesian National Team. Moreover, Shin Tae-yong is looking for a striker.
Zijlstra also has high hopes for PSSI so that the process can be completed soon. This is because the FC Volendam U-21 player can’t wait to defend the Indonesian National Team.

Zijlstra hopes that his naturalization process will continue to experience positive developments. So that way, he can soon meet Erick Thohir to shake hands. Because if that happens, he is certain to be a candidate for the Indonesian National Team.
“I hope the process can progress even more and I can fly to Indonesia to also, of course,
meet the general chairman of PSSI, Mr. Erick Thohir.

Zijlstra is a striker who is considered suitable to sharpen the Indonesian National Team’s attack line. Currently with FC Volendam U-21
he has scored two goals and one assist in two Dutch U-21 League 2 matches in 2024-2025.
